The product range of Bouwimpex offers the modern pig farmer a total solution. During the construction of a pig barn in Nuland, Brabant, our expertise was fully utilized: Bouwimpex provided (plastic) construction products for air supply, light entry, insulation, and pen finishing for this project.

Air Supply in the Barn

Good ventilation in the barn is very important for animal welfare, but also for the growth and development of the animals. Therefore, the intake and exhaust of air in the barn must be controlled accurately. For this project, the ventilation system was largely realized with the help of Bouwplast PLUS panels.

Fresh air enters the barn through an air inlet, where it flows towards the sections through the Bouwplast ceiling panels. U-profiles have been incorporated into the plastic panels, which can easily be connected and disconnected. This is a cost-efficient way to regulate the airflow in the sections.

Additionally, inlet valves have been installed in the light shaft for ventilation and airing purposes. In this barn, Bouwplast plastic frames have been combined with inlet valves from SKOV A/S, which the customer had already purchased. The valves are equipped with a wind pressure cap, ensuring that changing weather conditions do not affect the airflow in the barn.

Pen Arrangement and Finishing

Attention has also been paid to the finishing. With the help of various plastic profiles, the barn has been finished to perfection. A plastic Stirnbrett profile has been used for the window sills. The purlins above the windows and the steel trusses against the walls have been finished with plastic Omega profiles, making the plastic walls form a cohesive and neat whole. The purlins above the windows on the outside of the barn have been neatly finished with custom-cut HPL panels.

For the pen arrangement, gray Bouwplast HP-V panels were chosen. These panels are the flat version of the Bouwplast PLUS panel: HP-V panels have a flat top and bottom surface. The HP-V program consists of five different panel heights, allowing for easy realization of all standard pen partitions.

Light Entry in the Barn

The light shafts consist of plastic Bouwplast Easy frames with HR++ glazing. Easy windows are standardly equipped with a flange for easy installation, and thanks to an EPDM seal along the flange, a good connection is guaranteed. The HR++ glass also provides excellent insulation.
