The plastic building materials from Bouwimpex are a well-known concept in the agricultural sector. In addition to the new construction or renovation of barns and outbuildings, our products are also widely used in, for example, arable farming. This is also the case for this onion storage facility in Elst.

Proper storage of (seed) onions is very important since we only have one harvest per year in the Netherlands. To maintain the quality of the product, it is essential that the harvest is dried properly and then cooled to lower temperatures.

Cool storage is only possible in well-equipped and insulated storage facilities. Here, the product can be stored loose, where cooling and ventilation occur through a mechanical cooling system using outside air.

The Bouwplast plastic window frames and Agraplast plastic exterior door from Bouwimpex meet all the strict requirements for a good storage facility and are therefore the most logical choice.

For this project, we delivered custom Bouwplast plastic window frames. The flexible Bouwplast system has been implemented with sandwich panels instead of insulating double glazing, and the exterior is finished with Renolit foil in the project color to emphasize the design and appearance of the building. By connecting to the mechanical cooling system, the window frames can swing outward, allowing light and fresh air to enter the storage facility easily. The PVC construction and EPDM anti-leak seal ensure perfect insulation of the building.

The Agraplast plastic exterior door is also made of hard PVC (UV resistant), covered with Renolit foil in the project color on the outside and has a solid insulating plastic core and draft-free multi-chamber profiles on the inside. These doors can be exposed to all weather influences and offer a high degree of security.

The Bouwplast plastic window frames and Agraplast plastic exterior door are completely maintenance-free (UV resistant) and will last for many years.
