The Van den Aker family built a new Green Label sow barn in 2017. Bouwimpex supplied various high-quality plastic building materials for this beautiful project to deliver the barn fully in accordance with the latest construction requirements and to contribute to the Better Life Quality Mark. Considerations were made during construction regarding light, air, space, and fire safety for the animals.

The custom-made light strips on the side walls ensure plenty of daylight in the barn. With the installation of windows on the other walls, light and air easily enter the barn.

Bouwplast-plus plastic panels were used for housing and compartment separation, and for the department walls, Bouwplast FR fire-resistant panels were employed. Also, for the sturdy, easy-to-clean plastic doors, Bouwimpex called upon its resources; the barn is equipped with various Omnidoor exterior doors and Agridoor interior doors.

The new Green Label sow barn has 460 sow places. Work will be carried out using a two-week system. The piglets remain in the maternity pen until the age of five weeks before moving to the pigsty.

The work was carried out in collaboration with Bouwbedrijf Th vd Linden B.V. and Nijenkamp stable design and metal works.
