For a new pig barn in the Overijssel village of Haaksbergen, we supplied various building materials, including cast iron grates.

Topfloor cast iron grates
Topfloor grates are suitable for use in barns for fattening pigs and breeding sows. These barn grates are manufactured from high-quality, solid cast iron (GGG40), making them very strong and durable. The grates are acid and rust-resistant. Notably, the unique triangular bar shape – combined with the large slot opening of 12.5 mm – guarantees the most optimal manure passage.

Glazing for ample daylight
In addition to cast iron grates, Bouwimpex also delivered Bouwplast plastic built-in windows executed as glazing for this project. Ample daylight in the barn is important for the health of the pigs and makes it pleasant for the farmer to work. In this project, daylight enters through a glazing made of Bouwplast plastic Easy built-in windows of 70mm. These plastic barn windows contain HR++ glass for good insulating properties.

Fire-resistant panels and insulation
Our fire-resistant Bouwplast FR panels were also used for the walls, along with high-quality fire-retardant Asw Pir FR B insulation as ceiling insulation. These insulation boards have guaranteed good fire behavior and a high insulation value. In this way, animals thrive better under the right temperature conditions, and the safety of animals in the barn is the highest priority.
